Update: October 2009

Doe Run's Pastor Nominating Committtee came together in January of 2008, as a group of strong individual personalities.  During their time together, they worked very hard, and became a very close knit team, working toward helping to shape Doe Run's future.  Since Rev. Crowe's election, the team has been meeting occassionally with her to help her ease into her role as Doe Run's pastor.   With Rev. Crowe now firmly in place in Doe Run's pulpit, the Pastor Nominating Committee will be meeting in November, for what could be the final time.   During the meeting in November, the committee will be voting on whether they should stay together, or disband.  This decision will be announced to the congregation, and will be voted on at a future congregational meeting.  The PNC would like to thank all of the members of the congregation for their help and prayers, as they worked to find Doe Run's new leader.

Congratulations Rev. Crowe!

Doe Run Elects It’s New Pastor!

On Sunday, October 5th, Rev. Brynne was elected to be Doe Run’s new pastor, and lead our church into the next chapter in it’s life.

After a weekend of meeting and spending time with the church’s Boards and congregation, Rev. Crowe helped to lead our October 5th service.  Immediately following the service, a congregational meeting was held, where Rev. Crowe and the terms of call were discussed.  Following the discussion, a vote was held, where Rev. Crowe was elected to be our new pastor.

The PNC would like to welcome Rev. Crowe to Doe Run, and can’t wait for the rest of the congregation to get to know her.  We are very excited about November 16th, when Rev. Crowe leads her first service at Doe Run, so that you have the opportunity to see and hear what we’ve seen from Rev. Crowe.  We hope that you will be able to join us, as Rev. Crowe leads us into the next phase of Doe Run’s long and glorious history.

The PNC would also like to thank the congregation for their support during our search.  We would also like to thank Rev. Ann Dickey for all of her help and support.  We’d also like to thank our families for all of their support during those long hours of meetings and reading PIFs.

Important Dates:

Week of October 10th:  Rev. Crowe relocates to Pennsylvania and moves into our manse

November 15th:  Rev. Crowe’s first day at Doe Run

November 16th:  Consecration Sunday and Rev. Crowe’s first service at Doe Run

Candidating Sunday

The Pastor Nominating Committee was elected and began meeting in January of this year.  During that time, this group, which started out as 11 unique individuals, has grown into a very close knit team.  We have read and discussed the approximately 90 PIFs that we’ve received, trying to find the qualities that this congregation would want to have for the new leader of our church.  Through it all, we have felt the love and support of this congregation.  You have entrusted us with the huge task of finding the next leader for our church.

After much thoughtful consideration and  prayer, we are very excited to announce that by a unanimous vote, we have chosen to offer Rev. Brynne Crowe the call to come to Doe Run and become the new leader of our church.  We, as a committee have contacted Rev. Crowe and have extended a call to her.  She has joyfully accepted our call.

Brynne will be coming to Doe Run the weekend of October 3rd, 4th and 5th.  During that time, there will be opportunities for you to meet and greet her, and have the chance to get to know her.

In addition, Sunday, October 5th will be Brynne’s Candidating Sunday.  That day, there will be one service at 9:30am, which will be a blended service, similar to the services held during the summer months.  During the service, Sunday School will be available to those that wish to take advantage of it.  Immediately after the service, there will be a congregational meeting, where you will get the chance to ask questions and vote on Brynne’s candidacy.  Immediately following the congregational meeting, there will be a coffee hour, sponsored by the PNC.

Each Doe Run family will be receiving a packet in the mail which contains a cover letter, an agenda for the weekend, Brynne’s biography and the terms of call.  The documents are also posted below, so you can take a look at them online.

In closing, the PNC would like to thank you again for all of the trust, love, support and prayers you’ve given this committee.  We truly appreciate them, and know that without them our task would have been much more difficult.

Updates:

Update 08/21/2008:

The PNC has another candidate scheduled to come preach at a neutral puplit in the coming weeks.

Thus far, we've received over 85 PIFs to be reviewed and considered.  We  narrowed our search to two very strong candidates that we are considering.  We are hoping that we will be able to make a decision after the second candidate preaches for us.  Please continue to pray for guidance for the committee, as we consider these two candidates.  We're hopeful that one of them may be the person to fill our open pastor position.

We will continue posting updated information here, and making announcements during church services.  Should you have any additional questions or comments, please feel free to either contact one of the PNC members, or send an email to the PNC at pncdoerunchurch@verizon.net.  Because of privacy issues we may not always be able to answer all of your questions, but we will try to answer them to the best of our ability.

Update 08/21/2008:

The PNC recently had a candidate come to preach for the committee at a neutral pulpit.  The weekend was spent getting to know the potential candidate and to give them a tour or our area and our church.  The weekend went very well, and the committee was very happy with the candidate.  The candidate also was very pleased with Doe Run.  The committee has another candidate scheduled to preach at a neutral pulpit in the very near future.  We're hoping that we will be able to offer one of these candidates our open pastor position.  Please continue to pray for guidance for the committee, so that we may find the right candidate.

We will continue to post new information here, and make announcements during church services.  Should you have any additional questions or comments, please feel free to either contact one of the PNC members, or send an email to the PNC at pncdoerunchurch@verizon.net.  Because of privacy issues and concerns, we may not be able to answer all of your questions, but we will try to answer them to the best of our ability.
