About Doe Run

“Give thanks to the Lord,

because he is good,

and his love is eternal.”

-Psalm 118:1

Doe Run Presbyterian Church is a church, where history, mission and purpose coalesce in a committed congregation to seek and fulfill the work of God, in a modern world.  Our church was born in the midst of revival and schism in 1740.  Its sympathies were with the New Slide doctrine, and its early ministries from a log church in the still existing cemetery, reflected that new religious fervor.  A second log church followed in 1771.  In 1821, the present church was built using local fieldstone.

In the mid 1900’s, the congregation applied its efforts to tripling the usable space to meet the needs of a growing and active congregation.  A devastating fire destroyed much of the church building in 1984, but the building was restored to its original look the following year.  Doe Run is still a “small country church”, but it’s enormous vitality and dedication to God’s work continue from its solid base of remembering the pace and having faith in the future.

You are always welcome at Doe Run, whether you are a member, a visitor, or just stopping by.  The people are friendly, and the smiles are real.  We are truly happy to see you.  We are a loving and caring church family, drawn together by God’s love in Jesus Christ.  We joyfully share with others the word and love we have received.  We worship together, pray together, learn together, and have fun together.  We encourage each person to use their unique talents to the fullest.

The Doe Run Presbyterian Church is a historic church, which has been serving God and the community for over 260 years, and looks forward to many more years of service.  As we travel into the future, and the excitement it brings, we invite you to join us in our journey
